¡Bienvenidos! Welcome!

Mi nombre es MujerLatinaPR y quiero darles la bienvenida al Colegio de la Comunidad Ivy Tech, Recinto de South Bend. Este semestre veremos el empezar de dos grupos estudiantiles a los cuales ustedes pueden unirse. Estos grupos lo son la Union de Estudiantes Latinos (Latino Student Union or LSU)  y la  Asociación de Español (Spanish Club).

My name is MujerLatinaPR (LatinaWomanPR) and I want to welcome you to Ivy Tech Community College, South Bend Campus. This semester we will see the beginning of two new student groups to which you could belong. This groups are the Latino Student Union or LSU and the Spanish Club.

La Union de Estudiantes Latinos es una asociación cultural para aquellos estudiantes los cuales reclaman  linaje ó raza hipana/latina. La Asociación de Español es una asociación académica para estudiantes los cuales estan tomando clases de español ó estan entre semestres y quieren practicar la lengua. Los dos grupos tuvieron su primera actividad oficial el 8 de agosto del 2006. Diferente deprtamentos de la universidad estuvieron representados para conterstar preguntas, tuvímos bocadillos y los presentes participáron en la rifa de dos mochila llena de efectos escolares. ¡Fue un exito!

The Latino student Union is a cultural group for those students which claim Hispanic/Latino ancestry or have an interest in the Hispanic/Latino ancestry. The Spanish Club is an academic group for those students taking a Spanish class or are in between semesters and want to practice the language. Both groups had their first official activity on August 8, 2006. Different college departments were present to answer questions, we had snacks and those present participated in the riffle of two backpacks full of school supplies including a flash drive. It was a big success!

Ahora nesecito su cooperación. Estos dos grupos estudiantiles necesitan funcionarios para los puestos de Presidente (SC), Vice-Presidente (SC/LSU), Secretaria/o (SC/LSU) y Tesorero/a (SC/LSU).

Now I need your cooperation. Both groups are in need of officers for the following positions: President (SC), Vice-President (SC/LSU), Secretary (SC/LSU) and Treasurer (SC/LSU).
